Results week ending 15th August 2004

TRACK & FIELD
Fife AC’s Matthew McPherson took the pole vault bronze medal at the Scottish Track & Field Championships at Scotstoun, Glasgow with a clearance of 3.80m. Under 20 athlete Jude Beimers, placed 5th in the triple jump with 13.88m won by Scottish long jump record holder Darren Ritchie (15.20m).
In the long jump Chris Baily finished 7th (6.58m) with Jude Beimers in 8th (6.55m). Baily placed 3rd in his 100m heat clocking 11.18 seconds.
Down in Birmingham under 15 athlete Connor Hill,St.Andrews, contested the AAA’s Junior Championships. Connor just failed to make the final placing 4th in his heat, 10th fastest overall in 54.00 seconds, a personal best and considerable improvement on his previous best of 55.1 seconds.

ROAD RACING
Grant Laycock placed 56th out of 197 finishers at the Haddington half marathon in 99 minutes 18 seconds.
John Murdoch, Kirkcaldy took 3rd veterans award at the Forth Road Bridge 10km in 36 minutes 03 seconds with John Gilfillan, Cardenden, third over 50 (39.12).
