Fife Athletic Club’s Grand Prix 2016

The Grand Prix is open to all senior and veteran members of the club; a prize will be awarded to the winner in each of MS (18-39), FS (18-39), M40, F40, M50, F50, M60, F60, M70+ and F70+ categories. Each runner’s category will be determined by their age on the day of their first race in the Grand Prix.

To complete the Grand Prix, a competitor must finish a minimum of 6 races from the following list of 12: one race must be completed from each Section (A, B and C), plus three others from anywhere on the list.

Section A: Hills

  1. 16 Apr - Norman's Law (Fife AC)
  2. 19 May - Kinnoull Hill (Perth Strathtay Harriers)
  3. 25 Jun - Largo Law (Anster Haddies)
  4. 21 Aug - Lomonds of Fife (Lomond Hill Runners)

Section B: Roads

  1. 28 Apr - Kinross 10K
  2. 11 Sep - Stirling 10K (Central AC)
  3. 25 Sep - East Neuk 10K (Anster Haddies)
  4. 02 Oct - Giffordtown 5K (Fife AC)

Section C: Trail

  1. 03 June - Blackrock 5 (Entries via EntryCentral open 7pm 22 Apr)
  2. 01 Jul - Sandy Bay Slither (Fife AC)
  3. 27 Aug - Trail Races, Falkland (Fife AC)
  4. 31 Aug - Gateside Gallop (Fife AC)

Please pay close attention to the details for these races via the relevant websites, and note that some invite/require pre-registration.

The scoring system will be operated on the basis of % time in relation to that posted by the person who finishes half way down the field. In each race, this runner will be given 1000 points, no matter what their time. So if this time is one hour and the winner finishes in 30 mins, the winner will be awarded 500 points; someone taking 90 mins will get 1500 points. The series results will then be calculated according to each runner's points tally, the lowest being declared the winner. If a runner finishes more than 6 races in the series, their best 6 finishes will be used to determine their score, subject to them having done at least one trail, one hill and one road race.

There is no need to declare participation in the series – we hope to publish running updates of rankings, and will welcome notice of oversights/ miscalculations/ etc.
