BEVERIDGE PARK 5K, KIRKCALDY
Fife AC held the fourth and final Beveridge Park 5km race of the summer at Kirkcaldy. Following on from the Ceres 8 this was the club's 18th promotion of the summer season!
Pitreavie under 20 runner Mohamed Steto was first home over the two lap course with it’s two hard climbs timed at 16 minutes 28 seconds. Kirkcaldy veteran John Murdoch was the first Fife runner home in 5th (17.16) with Andrew Cassidy, Kennoway, 9th. Mark Harley, Kirkcaldy, ran well to finish 15th overall, second junior timed at 19 minutes 10 seconds.

LOMONDS OF FIFE HILL RACE
Dave Anderson, Milnathort, placed 4th at the Lomonds of Fife Hill Race covering the 9 mile (2,200ft) course over both West and East Lomonds and return in 72 minutes 39 seconds with Andrew Evans, St.Andrews, in 11th, first junior (79.50).

GREAT WILDERNESS CHALLENGE, POOLEWE
The hills were also alive over on the West coast where athletes contested the Great Wilderness run at Poolewe. Robert Munro (Stornoway) won the 13 mile event in 87 minutes 41 seconds while Roy McLachlan, St.Andrews, was in top form placing 6th overall, first over 50 in 97 minutes 38 seconds. Cupar over 65 runner John McNally returned to competition to place 34th, second over 60 (2:04.16) only 3 minutes down on the over 60 winner J.Urqhart (Unatt) while Eliza McLachlan finished a fine 36th (2:06) as 66 runners completed the course.
Glenrothes member Bob Allison lined up for the 25 mile race finishing 23rd out of the 47 finishers timed at 4 hours 05 minutes 16 seconds. K.Riddle (Highland HR) was first home in 2 hours 53 minutes 04 seconds.

FORFAR 10K
246 runners contested the Forfar 10km road race as Chris Thorne, Leuchars, led home a small club contingent in 18th (37.52) with Richard Shaw, Lower Largo, having a good run to place 33rd (40.18).
RESULTS: 1. R.Campbell (Arbroath Footers) 32.22. 2. M.Simpson (Metro Aberdeen) 1st veteran. 34.55. 3. S.Borland (Dundee Hawks) 2nd veteran. 35.05. 18. Chris Thorne 37.52. 33. Richard Shaw 40.18. 36. Bill Smith 40.46. 80. Dick Westwater 45.44. 83. Robert Langley 45.46. 88. Graham Bennison 46.35. 189. Kate Pether-Smith (JJ) 59.55. 210 finished.

NAIRN HALF MARATHON
Up at Nairn’s half marathon Phyllis Lemoncello placed 4th woman, first over 50 clocking 99 minutes 59 seconds. D.Hardy (Moray) took the womens prize timed at 96.54.
