Many times yet to be corrected as some 9-12 seconds faster. George Black's time was actually sub 22 minutes !! A number of personal bests and Scottish championship winners !!

Andrew Buchart (Central AC) won the Scottish 5km Road Race Championships at Silverknowes, Edinburgh following a close battle with Scottish hill internationalist Murray Strain (Hunters Bog Trotters).

Buchart’s winning time of 14 minutes 35 seconds replicated the winning time of the past two years with Strain following just two seconds adrift. Marc Austin (VP Glasgow) followed home in third – 14.52, the leading under 20 junior.

Dundee Hawkhill under 20 Jamie Crowe placed 26th overall/8th junior shadowed by Zach Delaney in 28th who led the Fife AC under 20 team to championship gold backed by Skylar Lobdell 83rd and Ewan Paton 90th. Fife AC claimed more gold as Eddie Sanders finished first over 60 veteran and George Black first over 70 veteran.

Elspeth Curran (Kilbarchan) claimed the women’s gold medal in 16 minutes 27 seconds ahead of Edinburgh’s Laura Dunn and evergreen over 50 veteran Fiona Matheson (Falkirk Vic.) Halina Rees placed 12th female overall leading the Fife AC team of Jennifer Kibble and Lorraine Brown to team bronze behind Edinburgh and Hunters Bog Trotters.
