Luthrie is a tiny, pretty village situated just off the main Kirkcaldy to Dundee road approx. 4 miles north of Cupar. From Kirkcaldy, Luthrie is the next turning left after the Perth/Cupar junction. There is a Junior Race and a Senior Race (Norman's Law: eligibility, DoB before 2005). We make every effort to allow ‘Seniors’ to watch the Junior race before the Norman's Law race starts, so there is a run for everyone in the family.

The Junior Race will be c.1k in distance, with some elevation, on farmland. There will be juice and chocolate for all runners.

Starting from the idyllic setting of the Lower Luthrie Farm cowsheds, the Norman's Law course follows road, bridle path and then footpath due west towards Ayton. Turning right at a farm gate, the route is marked as it meanders through fields to the open hill side, where runners have to pass through a gate to avoid the boundary fence. Once on open hillside, runners are free to choose their own route to the cairned top (an iron-age fort) with spectacular views of the Tay to the north. From the summit, the race heads south east back down to Luthrie and the finish. Don’t be put off if you don’t know the area: you will find your way back!

Norman's Law View

There will be (modest!) prizes for Male and Female winners in U20, 20-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, 70-79, 80+ categories. The first Fife AC runner home will be awarded the Alan Milligan Memorial Quaich; the first Fife AC female runner home will be awarded the Norman's Law Shield.

Race Arrangements:

The race is run under Scottish Athletics rules, and the FRA safety rules also apply; please familiarise yourself with the latter.

In the unlikely event of severe weather, alternative race routes may have to be used.

Parking is often tricky at Norman's Law, so please make every effort to car-share, observe instructions from any parking marshals, and even if there aren't marshals around, show consideration for local residents.
