An undulating route on quiet countryside roads surrounding the villages of Ceres, Woodside and New Gilston. There is also a 4 x 2 mile Relay Race incorporated within the main race.

The current Ceres 8 course was first run in 1987, although there was a half marathon run the year before (and maybe other years). It is interesting to note that there were 220 finishers in that first race, with some very fast times at the sharp end.
